Understanding
the scale.
The Indian numbering system uses commas differently than the Western system. After the first thousand, commas are placed every two digits (Lakhs, Crores) instead of every three.
| Indian System | Western System | Numeric |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Lakh | 100 Thousand | 1,00,000 |
| 10 Lakhs | 1 Million | 10,00,000 |
| 1 Crore | 10 Million | 1,00,00,000 |
| 100 Crores | 1 Billion | 100,00,00,000 |
